Restoration of St John's Church in 1998.


This large restoration project was made possible by a grant from English Heritage and the generosity of donations, loans and fundraising
by the congregation and friends.

The contract was carried out in four stages.

Stage 1 - East wall to Chancel.
Stage 2 - Chancel and Choir vestry.
Stage 3 - Nave and Narthex.
Stage 4 - Tower and North/South Porches.

Construction work involved roofing,stonework, rotted timber, plastering, decorating, windows and complete electrics-together with new work.
