In 2006 St John’s Church took part in ‘National Heritage Week’ and opened its doors to the public from Saturday 9th September to Tuesday 12th September. The 9th September 2006 coinciding with the 180th Birthday of the church.
The event was organized by our then ‘Tuesday Gang,’ who cleaned the church; maintained the church building; kept the church yard tidy and cut the grass.
In addition to depicting the church’s history, the displays exhibited the heritage of Farnworth and Kearsley.
